I was only just thinking on the weekend how amazing it was the Roy and H.G were still had This Sporting Life on Triple J after 22 odd years. To read this is a little disappointing, somewhat from a capitalist perspective (but not so much, they’re obviously exceptionally loyal, so I don’t worry about that too much) but mainly from a content perspective. I really hope that they won’t have to change any of their content for commercial radio, but the demographic of Triple M is quite different to Triple J and some of the stories the two tell are a little obscure for the masses. But that is half the fun… we were rolling around with laughter on the weekend when the two were talking about donating $46M to Unicef as part of the Annual Pig shooting festival. I don’t know if this will fly (get it, pigs flying… ooh that is good) as much, which is a pity.
The two are sensational so they’ll be funny no matter what they do, but I would suspect it would be more of The Dream set up, whereby they interview people and the like. Still, they’re my favourite comedians. Listen to this... So good.
Second John Clarke & Bryan Dawe. I guess I shall most likely listen to Triple M as a result… caving into the man!
